@Cuantas Vacas Let me show you the exit door and we go together 😆
Just kidding of course, it's nice motivation to me and I guess everybody to get challenged! I have decided to try and play this game on a regular basis once a day. I find the Melody Ace contest to be a really nice exercise that comes on top of intervals practice.
I'm also practicing improvising right now, and it is helpful to actually know where the notes that pop up in my head are on the keyboard, before actually playing them. I hope that I'll feel nice and comfortable with these things in a year.
The trick is to speed-run the easier ones, and slow down the playback speed a lot after 28. So it sounds more like an actual melody which you could sing it in your head, instead of just bunch of random notes playing. But not too slow that the music phrase is blurred.
Sometimes you also need a bit of luck, gotta pray to the church of tonegym so they dont throw weird melodies at you continuously. 😆
I might be good at melody ace, but definitely need works at chords and intervals. Practice practice practice!!!
@Mark Tomato Alley : If I ever go out through that door it will be for getting more coffee! I agree on the motivational side of having my ass kicked from time to time, but 32-33 should be enough for that purpose...😅. Now seriously, even though I can't call myself a musician of any kind, or producer, or anything related to music industry, the Gyms have allowed me to improve many aspects of my musical skills up to a point where I can manage to be 'up there' on most competitions, but I've also learned how to keep going knowing the fact that there's always a number of individuals whose skills are better than mine...
@Yicheng Yin : What you kindly share as 'the trick' is exactly what I do every single time I try to painfully reach 30 points (got it twice)...Where does that leave me? 😆 The only trick I know for reaching those amazing 35 is being you!! Congratulations again!!
@Cuantas Vacas Yes, but in the end, what's important is that it brings something to you. In my case I do a bit of Tonegym and then even more instrument practice aside.
I'm also quite high in the contests lately (thanks to the Daniel'ss not being that active lately). What I have noticed is that to make it to the top of the charts it's not about music anymore, it's about not mixing up the shortcuts on my computer... 😫
@Yicheng Yin I'm also doing the same, although accelerating the rhythm in the beginning stresses me out for the rest of the game. And then after trying a few times, I become really stressed out and impatient at the same time, so I keep getting worse. So it's a game of being able to relax enough to continue 😄
Anyways, I'm pretty sure that this kind of exercise will become natural to me after doing it more regularly, so that's the whole point.
Thanks for the encouragement but I'm sure I won't. As I explained before, I'm completely Ok (and relaxed, I swear) with the fact that some feats are, and will be, out of my reach. I enjoy the game inside Melody Ace competition without the added pressure for scoring more than anyone. The clock and trying to beat my best score by 1 is all I need!
I've been on this competition for a long time, and when something/someone stands out so prominently like you just did, I enjoy commenting (in my own style) about it with the rest of competitors...It's also my way to praise a good performance!
