I set the speed to max and click immediately right after hearing the melody but still only got twenty something. Are some of you secretly professional RTS gamers with godly APM?
Thanks to the context I can imagine RTS and APM belong to the gamers world, but I have no idea of their meaning. 😅
Let's just say that I still haven't found a peripheral that doesn't represent a bottleneck in the flow from my brain into any machine. I can feel it anytime I play Olympics: with the mouse, I'm slow but accurate, but when it comes to keyboard 'shorcuts'... I have no idea how anyone could use those keys so fast, no fails, no look! To me it feels like playing on a blackberry! But, for whatever reason, Melody Ace seems to fit my (limited) mouse skills, and I can go really fast. I think it's just because the movement is always a left-to-right sweep, only 3 slots to fill with the answer already in my head...
I also scored twenty something on my first 3-4 weeks... If you know the notes to the specified scale and are already transcribing from full-speed playback...it's just a matter of time/practice, and not that much!
RTS is Real Time Strategy, APM is Actions Per Minute. Generally pro gamers could give more commands (actions) more accurately in a given duration of time. For example, in a minute, an amateur could command 2 armies to go to 2 different locations to attack the enemy (and sometimes they misclick, attacking the wrong place...) whereas a pro could command 3 armies to 3 different places, split 2 of the 3 armies into 2 - 3 smaller groups to surround and attack the enemy more effectively, use the third army to lay traps & ambush so when the enemy retreats, they'll all fall into that trap... Thanks for the tips btw! I guess it'll take some time to get used to the game. I still misclick a lot 😅
I also thank you for helping me learn a few things! Actions/m makes much more sense than what Google insisted to give me instead: Application Performance Monitoring, which sounds to me 'too professional' even for Pro gamers... 😆. In my case, I think my APM would be enough to command 3-4 armies to go up a hill. One of them wouldn't even move, as it actually was the enemy's. The rest would end up marching into a deep dark lake I strategically hadn't seen and only a couple of soldiers would survive as they fainted before entering the water. I've always sucked at almost every videogame I've ever played!!
But the best addition to my english vocabulary sack is 'misclick'. I love that one!
No one on earth can be 'naturally' familiar with Locrian, as long as we have been exposed to western, popular and mainly contemporary music since we're babies until we are taught about the existence of that mode! But for me Melody Ace has been the best way to remember how scales for different modes are constructed: if you just try 3-4 times at every scale, you will find not only that your scores increase week after week, but also that those weirder modes are easier to remember.
