A lot of times with chords, i find myself unable do tell Dim apart from b5, along with Aug from Aug 7. I also cant really tell Aug 7, Dim 7, and Min 7 apart that well either. i frequently fail 6's because I mistake them for 7, or for 7+

Those are the hard ones... b5 is a bit less full than the rest of those and dim is a bit more open. All 7 have a larger range than the rest. Slowing down is hard, but for me that was the only way to start hearing the difference.

Like Benjamin said, slowing down and taking your time is hard but it’s one of the only ways. In time you will find this very challenge too be easy.

My advice would be to get familiar with the intervals you have hard time hearing before you hear them in a chord context

I don't really use b5, dim7, aug, dim, and 6 when i play... maybe that's the problem

I agree that I don't use the half diminished (minb5) that much either but I find for me that Maj7 I hear the semi tone clash, the Min7 I feel 'leads' to or implies the Dom7 and then the Dom7 'leads' or implies the tonic - dunno if that makes sense?
