This is a discussion i had with help center concerning exercise 3 level 42 inside RHYTMANIA that i got blocked on for a while. The tIme signature is 6/8 . You have to tap two sets of eight notes tripl;ets and one quarter note in the first bar... Metronome is tapping the eights notes triplets. A 6/8 sgnature means there are two beats per measure . Each beat equals a dotted quarter note. The metronome is tapping eight notes in triplets (12 in total for a 2 mesure sequence)) and at a 170 tempo . Come on ... it's wrong... In fact trhe metronome is tapping straight eight notes. 6/8 SHOULD BE 2 BEATS EACH EQUAL TO 1 DOTTED QYARTER NOTE WHICH IS EQUAL TO 2 SETS OF TRIPLETS. 12 eight notes would equal 3 beats per measure so it should be in 3/4 time signature. I got thru it by counting in 3/4 and playing the triplets as 3 against 2... on a keyboard computer it's hard to be precise. And the exercise is confusing for someone who reads music.. Anyway the theory is wrong. It confused me and i had to figure out how to play it.
It should be fixed ! Tempo 3/.4 and a dotted quarter note metronome at 85. There are more like it inside rhytmania. Sorry to insist but it's sending some users on a defective understanding of time signatures. Ask any drummer or percussionist...
Please support the cause. I'll just add that i think tone gym is a great learning tool , and lot's of fun. 'A daily exercise a day keeps the blues away'
Sorry i meant... First line second paragraph :It should be fixed ! Tempo 3/.4 and a quarter note metronome 3 beats per measur In 6/8 the metronome should tap 2 dotted quarter notes. Then the last quarter note in the first of the -present exercise would exceed the bars limits.
I agree. It's quite weird and I also think of it as a 3/4.
