I know sometimes it feels like that. Keep going though, try not to let it get to you. You are likely to see sudden improvements. Have a look at my previous posts

I don't know what to listen to for the chord inversion. I don't understand what it is.

Chord inversion is my nemesis. It makes me feel stupid and unmusical, but I'm getting better ever so slowly. It's shifting (glacially slowly) from a wild guess to actually hearing the difference. My next task is to get a better sense of the sound of 1st vs 2nd inversion. I sometimes move to my keyboard when I'm playing the game. I also usually have a window with ToneGym's Chord Player open.

You should honestly just ignore the chord inversion game at first, its significantly more difficult than the others. You definitely will improve if you practice consistently... but maybe not at Inversionist lol. (I'm no good at it either)

My advice differs from others regarding Inversionist. I.e., don't ignore it, just use an instrument to help you. Listen for the lowest note then match it on an instrument. Since the game tells you what the chord is, you then know which element of the chord is in the bass and can deduce the inversion.
