It gives you C as a reference tone at the start, then you have to sing the notated line that follows.
It's like a member of a choir singing from a music sheet.
So to be able to sing back the notation, you have to be able to sing different intervals based on the reference tone, just by looking at them on the staff.
that’s what I thought, but the thing is I think something is wrong with my microphone, even though there are other exercises in which it will record my singing.
When trying to sing back the notes in the solfegiator nothing happens, like if i wasn’t singing. Guess it’s a kind of bug.
Sometimes it's worth checking out audio setup and app's permissions, because those can change for no particular reason and without you noticing it (this is specially true on Win10). Good luck!
Actually it’s quite a common issue people have on here because the default setting starts the octave at C4 in Solfegiator. So you’re mostly singing from C4 to G4 for the first 15-20 levels or so. This is right at the passagio (the bridge between chest and head voice) for most men and is therefore the most challenging part of the range to sing. I had this issue and had to change my voice type to Baritone on here so that Solfegiator starts on C3 which makes the exercise in comfortable chest voice range for most men, at least to begin with.
