I've only been doing it for 8 days and I still can't tell a major from a minor. Half the time I can't even spot an octave. Tell me this is normal? please?

It completely depends on your musical experience.

its normal, dont worry 8 days is nothing, stay consistent, real progress is slow

Don't get discouraged. You can try out different training sounds to see if it sounds more clear for you. Also, use the 'c' key after your answer and before the next stage in order to pause and replay the sounds. You can hear the right and wrong answers as examples to compare to one another. Lastly if you have a keyboard or guitar, try sounding it out there.

8 Days is still early in your tonegym journey and if you're not a trained musician/listener then it's totally normal to not be able to pick these things up yet. Just keep at it!

I've been playing the app for months and instrument for years and i STILL mess up major in minor. Depending on what kind of chord you here before it can make it sound different aka context

I've been doing this for over three years now and m3 vs M3 (or their compound equivalents) will still trip me up from time to time.

Early days still , try not to get discouraged. Make sure you are using some type of earbuds or headphones - will make a difference
