One thought on melodix: I think it would be very helpful to see what the first note is while it’s playing the melody, or have an ability to play the tonic before listening to the melody, at least in the beginning stages when there are too few notes played to establish the tonic easily. I find that I get a key established in my head that’s different from the actual key of the melody and then seeing the first note throws me off a bit. But perhaps it’s part of what needs training on my part. I use functional approach to recognize melodies instead of using relative pitch from the first note played.
