😁 If there would be a way for me to transfer you some of my coins I would... because of course what matters most is to learn music and you need the coins for that.

Have you tried creating a second account? You can compete with it and I think you also get your daily coins with the workout.

I've also seen other ear training exercises on the the Internet that you can use. There are also apps, on Android I have Interval Recognition. It looks crappy and the sound is not pleasant to the ears, but it does the job and has a lot of options to improve.

Back to Tonegym, what I find nice about contests here is when I see someone above me. Nowadays I'm mostly self-teaching myself music, so it's good to know when in an area there are people who are better than you at your current level: it means you might be hitting a good spot on which to improve.

I used to play a lot of music, but I have not known for years and years that people could sightread on the fly, or name intervals or chords directly, and that was the reason why I never learned how to do it in the past!

Now that I've done that it helps me in other areas, when practicing, performing or composing.

@Mark Tomato Alley Yes I have another account and that helps some, but finally this week I had some luck in melody playground and got 16 before anyone else (the magic number to stay on the leaderboard) I also do way better sight reading just notes. I have only been here less than two months so I shouldn't complain, I guess I expect myself to be as good at things I have not practiced as extensively( chord/interval detection/naming chords by sight) as at things I have nearly mastered (sight reading notes)

I am also self taught on all of my instruments other than piano and find that the competitions encourage me to practice things beyond my comfort level.

I have decided to use my extra account exclusively for olympics as that is were I struggle the most, so losing the tonecoins is not as bad:)

Edit: I just played Olympics with my alternate account and for the first time ever played three games in a row! By the third time I could hear what I needed!
