For me I look for two things when I run low on ideas:

1. I'll build a whole song around some technical thing I like that I'm not that good at yet. It helps take your mind off of making a good song and more on just making one lol.

2. I'll make a different backing track for a scene in a movie or a character theme in a game or something to that effect. Something that gives you a clear goal and vision for what you are going to make.

Basically, whenever you start running low on ideas just try to make some songs that serve some sort of purpose rather than representing an idea or something. Then the ideas start flooding back in, that's how it goes for me at least.
