I Tried to Get a Song Stuck in Your Head

earwormmi

It's the chorus you heard once in a supermarket, and it's still playing three days later while you brush your teeth. You never chose it, and you can't turn it off. In one Finnish survey of more than 12,000 people, nine in ten said this happens to them every week. Researchers have studied which songs do it, and they found patterns. So we did something a little mischievous: we took what the research says and built a melody from scratch, one move at a time, designed to stick. It's eight minutes long. Consider yourself warned.

Still humming it? That's your ear holding on to a melody, the same skill Melody Hunter on ToneGym trains on purpose, one note at a time
