I saw your later comment and found it very interesting. I was wondering if you select a Piano when entering the game. Also, ToneGym is setup to default to the last instrument you used when you next enter a game.

Do you have your piano in front of you when you practice? It can be a great form of practice both for your ear and your muscle memory on the piano if you play the options and see which one sounds best.
